Welcome
We would like to welcome you to Mt. Eliza House Sanctuary of Early Learning. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for the care of children aged 6 weeks to 5 years of age. As a service we are committed to continuous quality care and improvement to ensure full and balanced development for each child.
Mount Eliza House Philosophy
Our resolve is to nurture curiosity and wonder in young inquiring minds with intentional teaching, play and the fostering of a strong sense of wellbeing and belonging. We aim to create safe, loving, and homelike spaces for children enabling their exploration of identity. We have a solid team of skilled Early Years educators who are responsive to the rights and needs of children. They build trusting relationships with each child to ensure their sense of security, confidence, and inclusion. They assist children in becoming involved learners and effective communicators.
Our approach is holistic. We esteem the expertise, culture, values and beliefs of families, and encourage family participation in programs. We invite family involvement in decision-making about their child’s learning and wellbeing and other service decisions. Local community collaboration is also very important to us. We build positive relationships with the local community through programs that enhance the daily experience of our children. These support our children in their journey toward becoming socially aware, informed, connected and contributing to their world.
We are guided by the Early Years Framework for Australia of Belonging, Being, and Becoming and the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority’s National Quality Standard. We believe in reflective practice and evidence-based teaching and care.
Educational Philosophy
The Mt Eliza House Sanctuary of Early Learning is committed to relationships. We assist children to form authentic connections with educators and other children, which supports their journey toward becoming socially aware, informed, connected and contributing to their world. We foster confidence and curiosity in children through a rich program of play, inquiry learning, and intentional teaching. We encourage involvement from our families and the local community to build a warm and collaborative learning environment. Our solid team of educators actively support this by understanding each child when planning for learning.
